Another Day, Another Space Where a Dollar Should Be

August 25, 2012
It seems summer is coming to an end, once again. I trust you all have enjoyed it?

Not much going on these days. Boss Bashers is the same as ever, albeit a tad more organized.

Actually, we do have one change coming up pretty soon. A new member will be joining our ranks, and she comes highly recommended by us other members. In just a little while, we'll be giving a warm welcome to the newest Basher, Avion.

That's about it. Happy new school year to all our followers, nonexistent as you may be.

Nihilanth transformed

July 11, 2012
Nihilanth no longer exists. Well he does exist, but not on Bossbashers. Well, not as a site admin anyway. Well, the site admin that was Nihilanth still exists, but as I've been trying to say, his name has been changed. Nihilanth the site admin is still a site admin, but his new BossBashers alias is Ridley. It's like I've been born a-new.

Late E3 Info! Yay!(Summary)

July 1, 2012
I figured it's too late to put up E3 info, but who cares!? I might as well, can't cause any harm. This is going to be split into 3 sections, Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, and (my favourite) PC. Please note, I won't be going into any detail here, it's just a summary.

Nintendo
The main thing Nintendo has going for them right now is obviously the Wii U. Throughout history, Nintendo has owned the gaming business, always coming out on top. This changed during the 7th generation of consoles, when Nintendo made the wii. It was a much less powerful system and was mainly used by casual gamers. The Wii U is their attempt to bring back the hard core gaming audience. This includes a graphical revamp, a more powerful system, and more mature games. Some games revealed for the Wii U's launch lineup include

Zombi-U, an M rated (that's right) zombie shooter, taking advantage of the Wii U's gamepad in many interesting and unique ways like using the screen of the controller as a scope for your rifle, or a console you need to hack, while being able to look up at your main screen to watch out for nearby zombies.

Assassins Creed 3, a continuation in the Assassins creed series taking place in the American revolution (1773 to 1783), also releasing for xbox 360 and PS3.

New Super Mario Bros. U, the inevitable Mario Bros. game, utilizing Mii's for cooperative play, and not much else new.

Smash Bros. U, not much information, but being a Smash Bros. game, it's expected to be good.

Rayman Legends, a 2D platformer based off of the first Rayman games, now featuring co-op.

Pikmin 3, the long awaited sequel to the first 2 critically acclaimed pikmin games, now featuring a new kind of pikmin (rock pikmin) that will be used to utilize the environment in new ways, like smashing through walls and building rock bridges.

Metro: Last Light, a sequel to the great post apocalyptic RPG shooter, Metro 2033

Scribblenauts Unlimited, another new twist to the Scribblenauts series, this time adding the ability to create your own items with matching words, literally adding unlimited items, as the name suggests

And many more games including smaller party games and rereleases that I won't be talking about in this short summary.

Secondly,

Sony
Sony hasn't had any hardware news, but they did talk about a lot of quality titles.

Last of Us, ironically the first game in this list, is by the developers of the Uncharted series, which could mean major success, and maybe a new franchise. The game seems very reminiscent of Uncharted, shooting, adventure, discovery, blood, gore, and HD graphics.

Beyond: Two Souls, is another bud that might blossom into a popular franchise. Everything in this game by the makers of Heavy Rain happens in real time, one of the many ways a player is supposed to be able to become fully immersed in this psychological action thriller.

Wonderbook, a world based on J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series.

 Next up,

Microsoft
Not the best conference at E3 this year, Microsoft had not much but smartglass, a service for viewing movies back and forth across different platforms, including your computer, your xbox, tablet, and smartphone. Smartglass can also help you use your tablet as a controller for your xbox. Real clever microsoft, thinking outside the box on that one.

Last, but definitely not least,

PC and General
There were also some other games that couldn't be held to any one of these companies. Some are third party games for all 3 companies' systems, some are only for PC. Without further ado, here they are.

Dishonored is Bethesda's new steampunk styled game, called by some a perfect mixture of steampunk, assassins creed, and free choice. This game focuses on being able to go about doing things however you want to do them, or like in Skyrim, you can just go do your own thing instead of focusing on the main quest line.

ArmA 3 hasn't released much new info, but never the less, this game is highly anticipated by the ArmA community, recently expanding due to the Youtube popularity of the ArmA 2 DayZ mod.

Elder Scrolls MMO will be the first MMO game by Bethesda, and will, as the title strongly suggests, take place in the world of the Elder Scrolls series.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, a new instalment into Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon franchise, features stealth/cover based shooting from a third person perspective, and has many new interesting technologies, such as spy drones to mark targets, cloaking devices, and seeing through walls.

Skyrim - Dawnguard, is the highly anticipated DLC for Bethesda's newest instalment in the Elder Scrolls series. This DLC adds crossbows, vampires, werewolves, new quests, new shouts, and a new area. While this DLC isn't any horse armour, it does add a new skeletal horse.

In conclusion, this has been my short summary of E3 2012, I haven't included everything, but I don't think anybody's going to read this anyway, and I got all that's important.

P.S. videos will come eventually, don't worry! Just working out some issues.

One-Year-And-Then-Some Anniversary!

March 5, 2012
Well, it's been over a full year since Boss Bashers first went online, and here we are. We now have seniority over a lot of newer websites! Joy!

Unfortunately, we don't have much progress to show for our big one-point-zero. We're still too cheap to get a non-Yola URL, our staff number is sitting at three, and we appear to have put more work into our profile pages than relevant site content.

I'd be lying if I said that will change soon, but don't worry. It'll get better eventually.

Now I'm off to eat an anniversary cupcake. And then maybe a small village.

SOPA update

January 19, 2012
SOPA has been stopped, for now. President Obama has pointed out some problems with the bill, and until they can be fixed, it will be delayed. This means either we have to prepare for it to be back ready to destroy the internet, or who knows? Maybe they'll even manage to get it to the point where we can live with it happily and fight online piracy at the same time. Although for now, we don't have to worry about anything, so get back to your lives, and have a nice day.

New Member!

January 13, 2012
It seems we have a new member here at Boss Bashers, and that would be me! But who am I you might ask? Well you can call me Nihilanth Ridley, and I'll hopefully be posting video walkthrough's and reviews. I don't feel like making this a long post so that's all I'll say for now, talk to you guys later!

Requests?

January 4, 2012
Yes, I know we barely have anything on display right now. We're only 2 people.

In an effort to make Boss Bashers more appealing to the general public, we're taking suggestions for site content.
Got a game you want a map for? We can do it.
Want to see some game music up for download on the site? Just name it, and we're on it.
Need some particular info on a particular game? We're your site.
Send your suggestions and requests to bossbashers@hotmail.ca. We'll reply promptly.

As always, we're still looking for more people to join the Boss Bashers team. If you wish to contribute anything to the site, anything at all, then throw us an email at the above address.

Much obliged!

New Stuff

December 21, 2011
I'm introducing 2 new sections to the site, we now have a FAQ  page and a Walkthrough page, neither really have anything in them, but they're there, and they will have many entries eventually. I'll be working on the site a lot in the near future, and I think you guys should favorite this site for now, and simply check in later. I also wish all of you gamers out there a merry christmas and a happy new year.

Ugh...

April 21, 2011
We're not progressing as fast as we first thought. Still no real URL, and only a few reviews/FAQS.
Ah, well. Stay tuned for more updates. Portal 2 review coming soon, too.

On your mark, get set...

February 18, 2011
Hi! Jhen speaking, in the FIRST POST EVER on Boss Bashers.
For those who want to know, Boss Bashers is a site (that will be) containing video game reviews, previews, videos, and other assorted stuff for the gaming communtiy. As of now, the staff is as follows:

Jhen Mohran (me)
Co-President

Kalle Demos
Co-President

Devila Lace
Lead Designer

S.H.O.D.A.N.
Head Chef

I know, we don't have much of a crew right now, but seeing as our site is only a month old, that's not bad.
And if you're wondering why I haven't posted anything until a month after the site's founding, we've been doing some behind-the-scenes work, so that has taken up a lot of our time.
